Career hack: be nice and be easy to work with. It’s an under-rated tool. And needed in today’s seemingly unsettled business world. Common courtesies are uncommon, especially these days when people are plagued by the stresses brought on by the pandemic. According to the authors of the book The Power of Nice: How to Conquer the Business World with Kindness, “being nice doesn’t mean acting wimpy. In fact, nice may be the toughest four-letter word you’ll ever encounter.” In sales, I learned quickly that kindness is always possible, even in impossible situations. It can turn many things around. Breathe. Be good at what you do. And be authentically kind.
