Lots of activity in the CRE industry these days. Some companies are weighing out the option to relocate, offering more physical distancing for employees in new spaces. Others are facing the decision to stay and renew their commercial or industrial lease. Either way, decision-makers must leave time for negotiations, explore options and make an informed decision based on:
· Information & research on market conditions in the area
· An increase or decrease in the vacancy rate for the property
· Research on any new construction in the area
· A relocation option (more or less space, new geographic area, etc.)
· A new set of terms with the landlord
· Out-of-date systems & physical features (requiring upgrades)
